It's so funny, this kind of reminds me of my first moment of revelation regarding our last truly unexplored horizon - our oceans. There was a TV show in the 90s called SeaQuest. This program took place in the future, when human kind had finished exploring outer space. Rather than keep looking out, they looked in, exploring our oceans.

It's great to see this finally happening!

I studied Oceanography for my Masters in the 1970s. It still amazes me how little is known about the oceans, even today. The geography is crudely known and deep benthic ocean life hardly at all. It would be wonderful if we could know the oceans as well as the continents.
