SLIM PICKINGS
I had occasion to stop by Circuit City to pick up an extra memory card for the camera. Just for kicks, I perused the video game hardware and software area. Of course neither Sony's PS3 nor Nintendo's new Wii console was available (see recent post on the subject). Even the software titles available were sparse for both.
Kids were lined up to play Guitar Hero II on the PS2 set up with a plasma screen.
And there were stacks of Microsoft's Xbox 360 available, along with a large number of software titles lined up. Made me think of Joystiq's report today on lagging sales for the Microsoft box.
Of course, it also made me think of Laura Foy's excellent MTV-style video crying to bring the "XBox back".
It's worth the two and a half minutes if you haven't seen it yet. Almost more fun than shopping for any of the systems.
MP-
I hear the NBC studios in NY sell like 100 Wii consoles a day, which are always sold out, maybe you should check that out if you're looking to buy your kids a Wii.
