St. Louis Lookin' Dude

Uh, why can't you hook the Apple display up to a PC. According to the specs at the Apple site, you need:

Windows PC and graphics card that supports DVI ports with dual-link digital bandwidth and VESA DDC standard for plug-and-play setup

Of course, you may have just been looking for an excuse to buy a G5. That I completely understand.

Can't wait to see how much this Dell panel costs.

I agree with St. Louis Lookin' Dude. The workstation class graphics cards such as the Quadro support DVI dual link. (Not all Quadro's do, but a few of them do.) Of course, when you're spending $2500 for the apple spending another $1000 for the workstation card is probably nothing ;). Of course I think the 7800 GTX now also is slated for dual link, but I don't know if that is in response to Dell telling them that they will be releasing this bad boy. Good times in deed.

I have a 30" Apple display running w/ an AGP card. Its getting harder and harder to find an AGP card that will work w/ these resolutions at a price under 500$

St. Louis Lookin' Dude is right but there is also another way to do this, I think I read it one of these blogs about it. Thank god the prices have come down since then. :)
