TIMES FLIES
It's good to see Technorati celebrate their third birthday (via founder Dave Sifry).
Despite the growing pains that they and other "Web 2.0" companies have gone through (like Web 1.0 companies before them), the company has continued to improve the functionality and relevancy of its products. They've come a long way indeed (via Niall Kennedy).
Of particular note is their new "Blog Finder" Beta. It tries to help find blog on a particular topic of interest.
The single most often-asked question I get when the conversation turns to blogging with a mainstream person, is "How can I find blogs in my field"?
It can be a professional or personal field. At this point, I usually stumble in my otherwise flawless evangelism of blogs in general, and have been reduced to "well, you should start with a google search for blogs in your field".
Hopefully, Technorati's Blog Finder feature starts to fill this gaping void (pun intended, cartoon via GapingVoid).
Happy Birthday, Dave and the Technorati Team! We look forward to more good stuff.
