ON RICKSHAWS FROM THE OLD WORLD

PEDALING IN STYLE

Trust the Europeans, or the Dutch in this case, to do something as prosaic as a rickshaw with style.  A month ago, I'd commented on the culture of rickshaws in Calcutta, India, vs. New York City, USA.

One of my favorite Asian blogs, SepiaMutiny has this post on cycle rickshaws in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Here are the three rickshaws from each of the above places next to each other.

I mean if the Dutch rickshaw came in white or black, people might think it was yet another accessory to listen to your iPod Nano while cycling.
