TO SCOOP OR NOT TO SCOOP...
This was too funny to be real, but it apparently is...a chastity lock for your ice cream...Ben and Jerry is selling a "Pint Lock" on their site so that you can be sure no one is scoopin' your Cherry Garcia (or other B&J's evil concoctions) in a communally shared refrigerator. As the copy explains:
"This idea came from one of our fans! He wrote us about how he lives in mental turmoil after buying Ben & Jerry's. He was so afraid that his roommates would eat his pint...he couldn't concentrate at work! He suggested we sell our pints in stainless steel, bulletproof containers with a little padlock. While we couldn't actually do THAT, we came up with the Euphori-Lock!"
Looks like a bargain at $5.50...now if they would come up with a different version for their customers who play a constant tug-of-war with themselves:"Do I open the Pint in the fridge, knowing it's another hour on the treadmill tomorrow or do I just skip it tonight and respect myself in the morning?"
This version would then have a lock that would have say, a 1 in 5 chance of opening even if you put in the right combination (the odds could be adjusted by the consumer if they so chose)...
That way, you can try to open the darn thing, and hopefully it doesn't open after a few tries, your conscience now has enough to time to marshal reinforcements and tells you to "walk away from the pint, Luke"...
I'd pay extra for that Pint Lock...
