It's all about what Facebook is and isn't to each of the writers, and it brings this image to mind (source).
It's lead to some pretty heated back and forth with others, including Stowe Boyd here.
And it apparently has spilled into some name-calling and other verbal fisticuffs (more on WinExtra here).
Unfortunately, platforms, be they open or closed, can do that to people as we try and articulate why we like or don't like something about them.
We all turn a blind eye to so many different ways they can be used, as long as they do something that we want, need, and/or really like.
But there's no need to poke each other in the eye over them.
