DIFFERENT ANGLE
I love books, the real paper kind. Sure I'm a sucker for every new, geeky attempt at at yet another "e-book" from a whole host of companies like Sony of late. And now apparently Amazon, and maybe Google may try again in this arena soon.
But nothing beats the real thing yet.
And I'm constantly looking for more shelf space for the growing piles of books.
This particular "Quad Bookshelf" caught my eye in this post on Uncrate:
"It's rare to see a bookshelf with enough moxie to become the focal point of a room, but that's certainly the case with the Quad Bookshelf ($1800).
The 47-inch squared bookshelf features a bevy of differently-sized shelves, sized for all different types of media, and several colored back panels to add a splash of color to the awesome asymmetrical design. [via"
Pretty pricey, but definitely a show-stopper.

Pricey certainly. But how practical is it for the true book lover? For example, I have large collections by author and subject - how would one arrange them in this format? Libraries have standard flat shelves in rows for a reason. Form follows function. and in this case, form has evolved over at least a millenium. certainly over the last few hundred hears.
This seems more like a product for people who buy coffee table books for decoration.
can't deny it is pretty though :-)
