ON POST-TED 2007 WITH RIVES
WORDS WITH VOICE
Well, TED 2007 is over, and over a thousand folks who were there are now dealing with the post-TED blues and TED withdrawal, as they return home to points all over the world.
Thanks to TEDTalks online, and YouTube, I can give you a peek at one of the highlights of recent TED, the amazing "slam poetry" performances of the artist known as Rives (picture is from TED 2006 showing Rives with Vice President Al Gore).
Here's one of his highlight performances from this year's TED, titled "If I ran the Internet":
For you recovering TEDsters, there's a Rives treat for you as well that you may not yet have seen, thanks of course to YouTube. Here's a glimpse of an earlier Rives performance, where he was blue before he went green.
The audio isn't as great as it could be, but the words come through loud and clear nevertheless.
If you'd like more Rives this Sunday afternoon, I can also recommend this one titled "Def Poetry Jams". Enjoy.
