WHAT AM I BID?
(UPDATE 10.23.05: Ars Technica has a good post titled "XBox 360: Shortages no Joke". It's no longer a game out there anymore folks.)
It's XBox 360 Launch Day for Microsoft, and the BBC has a good rundown on it. It's a potentially cool
console, especially when more titles are eventually released for it over the coming months.
In the mean time, it's amusing to watch the short-term mania over the device, especially over the holiday season.
There are already listings on eBay for the premium and regular versions, which when available in quantity should be available at $399 and $299 respectively. Average price range? Anywhere from $900 to $3500 apiece!
Now, that's what I call XBox Live*!
P.S.
* Speaking of XBox Live, Microsoft's XBox Live ARCADE feature is the one I'm most excited about in terms of this console going beyond the typical console demographic segments and hitting mainstream popularity. It provides out-of-the-box gratification of casual game enjoyment before buying your first game. It also provides several playable levels in demo mode of any game that is added to the online arcade experience, giving a true "try it before you buy it" test drive.
Michael Gartenberg has a great post describing this feature-Recommended.
